Drake Allegedly Gifts Young Thug $1 Million Cash Hours After He Was Released From Jail
Drake is known for being generous with the people he cares about the most. Adding to his reputation for generosity, DJ Akademiks claimed that the Toronto rapper flew to Atlanta to gift his “Oh U Went” collaborator $1 million in cash after he was released from Fulton County Jail.
A few months ago, Drake shared on his Instagram story that he had put some money on the “F Cancer” rapper’s books while he was serving time before being released on a plea deal. During his detainment, Thug dropped an album titled Business Is Business which featured two features from Drake, including “Parade on Cleveland,” alluding at the celebration that would take place upon Thugger’s release from jail.
In the slow-paced track, Drake croons, “Don’t tell me ’bout loyalty, show me this time/ Business is business, you owe me this time/ Slime on your head, Nickelodeon time.” Thug’s verse, which comes after a clip from a jail call between him and Drake, he continues the storyline claiming, “Business is business” on the track. The album cover featured a black-and-white photograph of Young Thug in a courtroom, looking back as he sat between eight men who faced the empty judge’s stand.
During his live stream, DJ Akademiks said that the “God’s Plan” rapper allegedly flew down to Atlanta two hours after Young Thug was released to gift him $1 million, in what podcaster referred to as a “super strategic move,” if true. He went on to clarify that he did not receive the information from Drake.
In other news, Drake showed love to another Atlanta superstar after performing “Housekeeper Knows” from the balcony while Latto performed on stage during her headline show in Toronto, Canada. The track marks their first collaboration. Latto recently received a Grammy nomination for her performance on “Big Mama.”

Social Media Reacts To Nicki Minaj Being Snubbed By The Recording Academy Yet Again
Nicki Minaj has always expressed displeasure with large corporations and companies that she believes have conspired against her and her success. Although she is regarded as one of the greatest artists of all time by many, she has seemingly always had a tough relationship with the Recording Academy.
After all the Grammy categories were announced on Friday morning (Nov. 8), fans quickly pointed out Minaj’s recording-breaking project Pink Friday 2 was omitted from any nominations. Artists like Ariana Grande and Megan Thee Stallion were among many snubbed from the 67th annual Grammy Awards nominations list.
One fan expressed, “Grammys tell you all need to know about the music business. There’s no way Nicki Minaj shouldn’t be a Grammy winner by now.” While someone else responded, “When earlier in her career she was told not to do a certain thing pon dem stage and she still did so from dat dem block her.”
She has yet to discuss her absence from the nominations, but recently she announced her new upcoming project, Pink Friday 2 The Hiatus, which will be released on Dec. 13. This project comes one year after the Billboard No. 1 album, Pink Friday 2.
Outside of the success of her album, she also went on two legs of her “Pink Friday 2 World Tour,” alongside supporting acts like Tyga, BIA, Tate Kobang, Skillibeng and more. Artists like Big Sean, 50 Cent and others also came out as guests to support the talented New York City rap legend.
Minaj is one of the highest selling artists of the 21st century. She recently became one of the few artists with multiple Diamond certified singles with her tracks “Super Bass” and “Starships.” She is the first woman rapper with this honor.
Known for her dynamic fan base, the Barbs most definitely have a lot to say regarding this recent snub. Beyoncé, Shaboozey and Sabrina Carpenter lead in Grammy nominations this year.
Young Thug Calls Out Gunna In A Now-Deleted Post
Fans are confused after Young Thug seemingly tweeted and deleted a shot directly at Gunna. On Saturday (Nov. 9), prior to being deleted on the app formerly known as Twitter, the “Hot” rapper’s page exclaimed, “Gunna stop acting like we friends on the internet, I don’t know u my guy.”
This post comes after he tweeted about dropping a song with Lil Baby, who has been very vocal about his displeasure with Gunna following him taking an Alford plea during the YSL RICO trial. While many fans have debated about whether Gunna “snitched” or not, there was additional confusion once Young Thug’s lawyer asked the judge if he could still work with his blood brother, rapper Unfoonk, and Gunna as a part of his plea bargain.
Many fans believed that gesture was enough to assume that Thug and Gunna were cool but this new tweet-and-delete has brought on mixed reactions. One stated user, “Ain’t 20 years on the line?….Please Thug not today.” While someone else shared, “He so slow. I don’t wanna hear free young thug when he back in the slammer!”
Gunna has been very adamant about his relationship with Young Thug following his release from jail. He has had a “Free Jeff” sign prevalent at all his shows, although many people were unclear about the state of their relationship. Artists like Future, Lil Baby, Lil Durk and many more all famously unfollowed and stopped interacting with the rapper once he returned home.
Prior to Thug’s release, the conversation around Lil Baby and Gunna’s scorned relationship started to pick up steam. Many people believed that his music and social profile had taken a hit since he drew his line in the sand regarding Gunna being a snitch.
Young Thug has yet to talk at length or release any music to clear up any rumors about the status of his relationship with his fellow YSL artist. On the other hand, many believe that Thugger will appear on Lil Baby’s upcoming release. This speculation grew after billboards surfaced featuring the quote “whatever Wham says goes,” which alluded to an older tweet from Young Thug while he was locked up.
